You will feel the dread tighten in your hands. Twist the dread in the direction it’s already twisted in.

such as clipping the dread onto a chair or surface or even just holding/getting someone to hold the other end of the dread. Secure the dread onto something – this can be done in any way.Resealing smooth synthetic dreads – step by step If you want the whole set to be done, you might be better contacting your seller. If you’re not confident in resealing dreads at home, just reseal the odd stop/end of a dread before trying to do the whole dread. This is good if the whole set could use a freshen up, as opposed to just a few spots that need taking care of. This is where you send them back to the seller and they’ll reseal the whole set before sending them back. It’s important to note that if you bought your set from a dread seller, many will offer a resealing service for a small fee. This is perfect if you have just a few spots that need tightening up. The good thing about smooth dreads is they are easy to reseal, and doing this can make them almost as good as new. Similarly, if they’re styled roughly, knotted up, installed/uninstalled without care you can also cause damage. and they may not go back to the way they were without being resealed.

They are twisted tight into one direction, so if you manually twist them the other way, you will damage and break them. One of the main things to know about smooth dreads is you should treat them gently. Well made smooth synthetics should never totally unravel, although if the dreads have been treated rough, sometimes they might. This is normal, and doesn’t mean there is a default in the set. Due to the twisted nature of these dreads, smooth dreads can, and will, naturally loosen and ‘unravel’ over time.
